Who I Am

I'm Marilyn, a girl who is just living day by day and determine to accomplish her goals. The biggest influence in my life is my brother because he went to college and got his associates degree. My brother made me realize that although there are bills to pay around the house, education should not be put on pause. My mother also is an influence since she showed me never to give up, she made me want to be someone in life. My goal is to get my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and also in Human Services. I feel like my purpose in life is to help children since some children in life need help because others left them alone. I feel like I also can help families that have a family member that caught a stroke or any health problem.  In my past, I have encounter a period of time that changed me and made me be the person I am today. In 2001 my dad caught a stroke and as a young child I had to move from New York. Being in a new school, new society and a new place to live was difficult for me. It was more difficult when people who surrounded us were not that nice. This event shaped me to see that the world never looks as what it seems. Today I see the world as just being there and we humans are what we determine the world would become for each person. Each day I see that my daily life is influence by my personal history, because if it was not, then my life today would be totally different.

  1. Marilyn, you and I both have the same views about children that are left alone. I am so sorry about your father though. It is truly amazing that you want to help people and that you have a generous heart that's an amazing thing!I also want to get my degree in Human Services its a great field to me. I agree the world is not what it seems and people aren't always who you expect them to be. I hope that you are now surrounded by people that are nicer to you and that make you feel welcomed. I also hope that things aren't difficult for you now and that you have adjusted to everything. You seem like a sincere person and I hope everyday continues to be better for you :)
